 Minutes of July 12, 2022 Monthly Meeting

The July 12 ,2022 monthly meeting of Fairfield Township was called to order at 5:00 PM by Chairman Phil Yetzer.  Also present were Supervisor Brian Glenz, Supervisor Les McCoy, Treasurer Kathy Hachey and Clerk Marianne Auge.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

The agenda was reviewed. Phil made a motion to approve the agenda and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.

The minutes of the June 14, 2022, meeting were read.  Brian made a motion to approve the minutes with the corrections and Phil 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.  The corrections was crushed granite not crushed concrete for around the cement apron of the garage.

The treasurer’s report was read. Les made a motion to place the treasurers report for audit and Brian 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously. Kathy said the ARPA account has $17,834.30 in it and the Source Well account has $1490.16.

Public comment:

New Business: The clerk told the board that Crow Wing County pays their election judges $15.00 per hour and head judges get $20.00 per hour.  Les made a motion to match the county rate for election judges and head judges   for training and working at elections. Phil 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously. 

Road Maintenance: Les said he called Royal Tire and ordered 6 new tires for the grader. One of the tires on the grader is bulging. Dust control is done. We used 4605 gallons on the road. We are waiting for a bill from Andy Moritz for the storms on 6/20 and 6/24/22. Russ has started mowing the ditches.

Garage addition: The wastewater pond has been dug and is being shaped.  The pond needs some finishing touches.

Painting Townhall: The painting on the town hall looks good. Tim will try to finish it this month. Brian asked what we should do about Tim using his own tools for the painting. The supervisors said Tim needs to submit a bill for the use of his tools. Brian will tell Tim to submit a bill.

Go North:  Kathy said they are still working on the recycling program.

Cemetery: The brochure is being worked on. We should put in the brochure that no trees can be planted.

 The supervisors discussed putting a new sewer in for the town hall. It was suggested that we get Martin Joyce to draw up the design for it.

West Adney Lane:  The clerk will rewrite the letter to the residents.

Correspondence was read.

Bills were read. Brian made a motion to pay the bills and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.

Les made a motion to adjourn and Brian 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.   The meeting adjourned at 6:14 PM.
