 Minutes of March 1`0, 2022 Monthly Meeting

The March 10,2022 monthly meeting of Fairfield Township was called to order at 5:00 PM by Chairman Phil Yetzer.  Also present were Supervisor Brian Glenz, Supervisor Les McCoy, Treasurer Kathy Hachey and Clerk Marianne Auge.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

The agenda was reviewed. Les made a motion to approve the agenda and Brian 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.

The minutes of the February 8, 2022, meeting were read.  Phil made a motion to approve the minutes and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.

The treasurer’s report was read. Phil made a motion to transfer $50,000.00 from the checking account to the ICS account. Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously. Les made a motion to place the treasurers report for audit and Brian 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.

New Business: Brian brought up the picnic area that Marlys Mongan brought up at the annual meeting. The supervisors said we could put up a picnic table outside for special occasions like the 4th of July. Brian said he was concerned about not having a bathroom outside and about garbage or pop containers being thrown on the ground by the town hall.

The COVID signs were discussed. It was decided to leave them up for now.

Clean-up day on May 21,2022 was discussed. The post card we send out was reviewed and a few changes were made. The clerk will have the post cards printed and mail them out the first of May.  The clerk will also get the mailing labels for property owners from the county.

Gun Policy: Kathy asked if the township could write a gun policy. Kathy said she would do more checking on the gun policy.

 Garage addition: We still need to build the Wastewater Pond, but we have time to do it. Brian said he had a discussion with Russ about the holding pond.  We are having problems with the furnace. The furnace shuts down when the weather gets cold. Les said he would have Ryan check the furnace.

The old siding from the garage was discussed. Building a salt shed with the siding was discussed. The salt shed would need a concrete floor and a blacktop rim around it. We would put the metal siding on the outside and wood on the inside.

Go North:  Kathy said they are still working on the recycling program.

Correspondence was read.

Bills were read. Brian made a motion to pay the bills and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.

Les made a motion to adjourn and Brian 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.   The meeting adjourned at 5:50 PM.
