The January 13, 2026, monthly meeting of Fairfield Township was called to order at 5:00 PM by Chairman Phil Yetzer. Other board members present were Supervisor Les McCoy, Supervisor Molly Swaggert, Treasurer Kathy Hachey, and Clerk Marianne Auge. Also present was Blair Mileski.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
The agenda was reviewed. Phil made a motion to move Emily Fire Chief, Blair Mileski to 3.5 and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously. Molly made a motion to approve the agenda as revised and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.
Emily Fire Chief Blair Mileski gave a report to the board on the Fire Department and the number of calls that were in Fairfield Township. Blair said the fire department has 25 members. The department has 6 EMT and 10 EMR trained members in the department. Chief Blair said they had 17 EMS calls, and 2 vehicle accident calls in Fairfield Township in 2025.
The bills were reviewed. Molly made a motion to pay the bills and Les 2nd the motion, and it carried unanimously.
The minutes of December 9 ,2025 meeting were read. Molly made a motion to approve the minutes and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.
The December treasurer’s report was read. Les made a motion to place it for audit and Molly 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.
Public comment. None
New Business: The clerk said she received a call about Property on Adney Lake rezoning. The call was from Mary Fritz 952-239-5856. Mary told the clerk that some of the residents on Adney Lake were concerned about the Kovatovich property that was sold being rezoned into lots for building. Mary asked the clerk to call her if the township received any correspondence on rezoning of the property.
Old Business:
Road maintenance: Les said he talked to Josh Marty and Les said he would like to hire him for the grader operator and other maintenance jobs. The clerk will take the forms that Josh has to fill out to the town hall.
Les said he would contact Brainerd Lock to rekey the locks on the doors. Les said the furnaces are replaced in the township’s maintenance shop.
Kathy said Go North is still working on getting 501C status. They have the state ID but are waiting to get a federal ID.
Correspondence was read.
Molly made a motion to adjourn and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.
