The November 6, 2025, monthly meeting of Fairfield Township was called to order at 5:00 PM by Vice-Chairman Les McCoy. Other board members present were, Supervisor Molly Swaggert, Treasurer Kathy Hachey, and Clerk Marianne Auge.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
The agenda was reviewed. Molly made a motion to approve the agenda and Les 2nd the motion, and it carried unanimously.
The bills were reviewed. Les made a motion to pay the bills and Molly 2nd the motion, and it carried unanimously.
The minutes of October14 ,2025 meeting were read. Molly made a motion to approve the minutes and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.
The October treasurer’s report was read. Molly made a motion to place it for audit and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously. Kathy explained that if the checking account goes below $10,000.00 the bank automatically transfers enough money from the ICS account to bring the checking account up to $10,000.00. Kathy also said if the checking account goes above $20,000.00 the bank would transfer money from the checking account to the ICS account.

New Business: The clerk said the township has to decide if they are going to pay the premium for the state Minnesota Paid Leave or if the township will pay half and the employee pay half. The township will have to start paying for the leave in January 2026.
Les said he put an ad on the Minnesota Works web site looking for a part time employee. Les said the only people who inquired wanted full-time work. Molly had the name of a person Les could call. Molly will ask Tim to look for the help wanted sign we had made and put it up.
Les asked about rekeying the locks on the town hall doors and the shop doors. Molly made a motion to have the locks rekeyed and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously. Les will find someone to do the rekeying.
Les said he thinks we should hire Mavericks Heating and Air from Crosslake to service our furnaces. Les said the service agreement would cost $85.00 per hour and they would come ever fall to check the furnace. The cost would be tech fee and labor. Molly made a motion to hire Mavericks Heating and Air and Les 2nd the motion, and it carried.
Old Business: Les said the pickup truck seems to be working
Road maintenance: Les said Tim, let him know the culverts on Bass Lake Road are plugged. Les said he asked Andy Moritz if he could go and unplug them. Les said Andy would try to get them unplugged before they freeze.
Kathy said Go North is still working on getting 501C status. They have the state ID but are waiting to get a federal ID.
Correspondence was read.
Molly made a motion to adjourn and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned 5:40 PM.
