The February 10, 2026, monthly meeting of Fairfield Township was called to order at 5:00 PM by Chairman Phil Yetzer. Other board members present were Supervisor Les McCoy, Supervisor Molly Swaggert, Treasurer Kathy Hachey, and Clerk Marianne Auge.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
The agenda was reviewed. Molly made a motion to approve the agenda and Les 2nd the motion, and it carried unanimously.
The bills were reviewed. Molly made a motion to pay the bills and Les 2nd the motion, and it carried unanimously.
The minutes of January 13 ,2026 meeting were read. Molly made a motion to approve the minutes with the corrections and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously. The correction was to add Josh’s last name of Marty and to change the furnaces were installed in the maintenance shop not the town hall.
The January treasurer’s report was read. Les made a motion to place it for audit and Molly 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.
Public comment. None
Old Business:
Road maintenance Culverts are on hold until later.
Les said he would contact Brainerd Lock to rekey the locks on the doors. Phil said we should check on getting a combo lock for the doors so if employees leave, we will just need to change the codes. Les said he would check into it.
Kathy said Go North is still working on getting 501C status. They have the state ID but are waiting to get a federal ID.
New business: The supervisors reviewed the agenda for the annual meeting, and the clerk will make the changes to the agenda. The supervisors suggested we keep the budget the same as last year. Les said the road report looked okay.
The supervisors did an audit of the clerk and treasurer’s books from 2025. Molly made a motion to approve the audit and Phil 2nd the motion, and it carried unanimously.
Correspondence was read. The clerk read a letter from the county about the construction share cost agreement with the county for sealcoating Township Road 114. Phil made a motion to accept the agreement with the county for the approximate cost of $77,000.00 and Les 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously. Les and the clerk signed the agreement, and the clerk will send it to the Crow Wing County Highway Department.
Molly made a motion to adjourn and Phil 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.
