Monthly Council Meeting

May 12, 2026

The May 12, 2026, monthly meeting of Fairfield Township was called to order at 5:00 PM by Chairman Phil Yetzer. Other board members present were Supervisor Les McCoy, Supervisor Molly Swaggert, Treasurer Kathy Hachey, and Clerk Marianne Auge.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

The agenda was reviewed. Molly made a motion to approve the agenda and Les 2nd the motion and the agenda was approved unanimously.

The bills were reviewed. Les made a motion to pay the bills and Molly 2nd the motion, and it carried unanimously.

The minutes of April 14 ,2026 meeting were read. Les made a motion to approve the minutes with the corrections and Molly 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously. The correction was the spelling of Molly’s name.  

The minutes of the 4/21/26 road inspection were read. Les made a motion to approve the road inspection minutes and Molly 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.

 The March 2026 treasurer’s report was read. Les made a motion to place it for audit and Molly 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.

Public comment.  

Old Business:  

Road maintenance Culverts are on hold until later.

Kathy said Go North got their 501C status. Kathy will set up a checking account for Go North and she will transfer the money from the Go North account that was set up under Fairfield Township when we were acting as their fiscal agent to the new Go North checking account.

Cleanup day is May 16, 2026.  Les has contacted Pequot Lakes Sanitation LTD and Emily Rolloff and Recycling for the Garbage truck and dumpsters.  Kathy will order the food for lunch for the volunteers after cleanup day is over.

Election Judge wages were discussed. The clerk said wages were brought up at the clerk’s election meeting and it was said that the average wage is $20.00 for election judges and $25.00 for head judges.  Molly made a motion to pay election judges $20.00 per hour and head election judges $25.00 per hour. Les  2nd  the motion and it carried unanimously.

 The clerk said a chain of custody for elections is needed to be set up by June 1,2026 per the clerk’s election meeting. The clerk said the county has contacted the state election judge official about the chain of custody.  The township can go under the county’s chain of custody. The clerk typed up a chain of custody for Fairfield Township if the County chain of custody isn’t done.  Phil made a motion to pass the chain of custody and Molly 2nd the motion, and it carried unanimously.

Correspondence was read.  

Molly made a motion to adjourn and Phil 2nd the motion and it carried unanimously.

 The meeting adjourned 6:05 PM.
